Embark on an exciting journey into the world of robotics, where innovation meets creativity

Robotics in Education

In an increasingly technology-driven world, knowledge of robotics and programming is becoming more valuable.  Robotics education has become an integral part of modern learning.

In today’ s digital era, technology has revolutionized our daily lives, permeating nearly every aspect. In recent years, educational robotics has become a staple in schools, demonstrating significant benefits in children’ s learning outcomes and overall growth. Robotics programmes, not only enhance academic development, but also foster holistic growth in young learners. Through the use of motors, gears and coding software, children are equipped with essential 21st-century skills such as analytical and critical thinking, problem-solving, and digital literacy.

Through educational robotics children develop the following skills:

  • Overall STEM Skills: Robotics integrates science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) principles, providing a comprehensive learning experience across multiple disciplines.
  • Creativity and Innovation: Designing and building robots encourages creativity and problem-solving, as learners explore new solutions and experiment with different designs.
  • Critical Thinking: Robotics challenges individuals to think critically and analytically, fostering skills in logical reasoning, decision-making, and troubleshooting.
  • Perseverance: Robotics provides a hands-on approach to learning, allowing individuals to develop, test and rethink solutions.
  • Collaboration: Many projects involve teamwork and collaboration, promoting interpersonal skills such as communication, cooperation, and teamwork.

Overall, learning robotics equips individuals with essential skills for success while fostering creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration in a fun and interactive way.

LEGO® Education Academy

The LEGO® Education Academy offers training programmes in robotics, for educators seeking to develop teaching and learning competencies to carry out robotics workshops in their classroom.

Educational robotics has become a significant component in modern education, enabling children to construct and program robots using motors, gears, and other structural materials. Through this hands-on approach, children acquire 21st-century skills such as analytical thinking, problem-solving, and digital literacy.

Using LEGO® Education products and curriculum, teachers develop skills and strategies to deliver active, hands-on instruction which encourages students’ critical and creative thinking. These development programmes are led by certified LEGO® Education Academy Certified Teacher Trainers.

In our training sessions we offer:

  • Introduction to LEGO® Education programmes and materials.
  • Ready-made lesson plans for immediate implementation in the classroom.
  • Educational solutions utilizing existing hardware and software in your school.
  • Ready-made educational solutions for teachers.
  • Official training and certification from LEGO® Education

FIRST® LEGO® League Educational Robotics Competition

FIRST® LEGO® League is a collaboration between the non-profit organization FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and  Technology) and the educational sector of LEGO®. This annual competition, held since 1998 in over 110  countries globally, guides  young minds in STEM learning and exploration from an early age.

FIRST® LEGO® League participants gain real-world problem-solving experiences through a guided, global robotics programme, helping today’s students and teachers build a better future together. When participating in FIRST® LEGO® League, students engage in hands-on STEM experiences, building confidence, growing their knowledge and developing habits of learning. FIRST® LEGO® League’s three divisions inspire youth to experiment and grow their critical thinking, coding and design skills through hands-on STEM learning and robotics.
From the Discover phase to Explore and then to the Challenge, students grasp the fundamental principles of robotics and apply their skills in an exciting competition. The competition cultivates habits of learning, self-confidence and teamwork.
Each FIRST® LEGO® League season concludes with a celebration where teams showcase what they have learned and discovered. In the higher age category, teams compete with their robots. Some teams advance to global competitions where they compete with teams from around the world.

This programme is approved by the Ministry of Education. For more information, visit FIRST® LEGO® League Greece.
